1969 2002/6 VIN 1665405 Polaris Silver 5 Speed
M20 6 cylinder from a 1989 325i  SOLD 2/12/2008

A truly classic BMW with a twist.  It started as a bone stock 1969 BMW 2002 with a single barrel carb producing 90+ hp.  The stock motor was replaced by an M20 six cylinder engine from a 1989 325i which produces 170hp.  The result is a wolf in sheep’s clothing from a performance standpoint and newer car reliability.  The car had body work and paint in 2005 during which time the car was completely disassembled.  I am not aware of any rust on the car and the car sits in storage during the winter.  During the restoration, every system of the car has been renewed/restored.  Below are the highlights:
Bodywork: New rear shock towers installed, New Front Fenders, Prior owner replaced rear quarter panels, trunk floor and rockers in the late 1980’s, Repaint with original polaris silver
Suspension: Bilstein HD/Eibach Springs, IE Front and Rear Sway Bars, Full Poly suspension bushings
(Control Arms, Rear Trailing Arms, Diff), Tii Boxed Trailing Arms and Tii Front Struts, Front and Rear Shock Tower Braces (Battery Relocated to Trunk)
Brakes: Wilwood Front Calipers on 320 Vented Rotors, 320 Rear Brake Upgrade,
Braided Stainless Brake Lines, 320 Master Cylinder
Engine/Drivetrain: M20 Engine from 1989 325i – Approx 70K miles.  Performance Chip in the ECU (15+ hp increase), All new engine seals and gaskets (head, front and rear main, etc), M20 Engine mounts from 2002 Haus, 5 Speed Transmission from a 1983 Euro 323, New Clutch and PP, Rebuilt driveshaft from 2002 Haus, Shifter Linkage/tower and SSK from 2002 Haus, 3.64 Limited Slip differential, Ansa Exhaust Header, Custom Magna Flow Exhaust
Interior: Recaro Seats, Matching rear seat, New door/rear Panels, Carpet and Headliner

This car is driven often so there are a few rock chips on the front spoiler, etc. There is also a small crack in the upper part of the dash and one area on the lower dash that appears to have been repaired.  Overall the car is in fantastic shape with no known issues.  I have many more pictures of the car and a spec sheet outlining most of the work that has been done to the car in the last several years.

ED NOTE: This M20 powered 2002 is one of, if not the best in the country.  It was our pleasure to
work with Chuck on developing the parts needed to make his car the powerhouse that it is.  Our
good friend Keith Kreeger (of www.my2002tii.com notoriety) has DRIVEN Chuck's car HARD and has
given it his stamp of approval!  Chuck's dedication to clean work, excellent fabrication and attention
to the details makes the car SHOW as good as it runs!  His next project is going to be even better.
